Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live.-Mark Twain, US humorist, novelist, short story author, & wit (1835 - 1910)
Can you exist but don't live? A body without the soul is probably an easy example. But what is there to cherish? You're practically dead my friend.
When you're immersed in your endless dreams, you're dead before your time although you will never let death appear in your dreams. That is ironic, isn't it? You have to embrace death before you can live forever. That's an informidable fact because we are hawadith - we come from non-existence. And I believe that's one of the reasons why our Prophet forbids us from having prolonged dreams and fearing death. Be afraid not to death; be ready instead.
Beware of your illusions, my dear friends.
