al-Wahn

The Prophet S.A.W. said:

"The nations will soon crowd against you like the gluttons crowd around their dish". One sahabah asked, "Is it because we are few in number at that time?". The Prophet replied, "No, at that time, you will be many. But, you will be (like) scum, as the scum of the flood. And Allah S.W.T. will take the awe of you away from the hearts of your enemies, and He will throw al-Wahn into your hearts." Another sahabah asked, "What is Wahn, o Rasulullah?". Rasulullah S.A.W. answered, "The love of this life and the fear of death." (Riwayat Abu Dawud and Ahmad)
