Our silence is a green light for Israel

"Each moment of international silence and inaction proves to be a commendation of Israeli oppression.

The longer a tyrant is allowed to commit such despicable acts against HUMANITY, the more atrocious and frequent such acts become.

First the evacuation of Palestinians from their land, then the closure, followed by the massacre in Gaza and the unending siege. What more is left to be done?!"

I had my breakfast at a Malay restaurant. I had a roti canai and teh ais . At the counter, there as a medium size poster of "Boycott Israel" with a long list of products to be boycotted. I asked the worker who was working behind the counter if they still have Milo ais and Maggi goreng . Surprisingly, they still do. What is funnier is that right behind the counter are cigarettes of various brands including Marlboro and Dunhill.

I think this is one of many side effects when we choose the wrong people to be our emissary of the Palestinian course. These "icons" of the Palestinian struggle, they don't have a clear idea of what this struggle is all about. So do the people who follow them.

Silence is no doubt a deadly weapon. But, to speak out about something you don't have the guts to do is just shooting blanks.
